It isn't April QUITE yet! But, no worries; it will be here tomorrow!

Still Peepin'

I admit it---i still have Peeps leftover. Now I am down tho the yellow ones. This was my last Cocoa Peep. The yellow ones will get stale before we eat them. Unless the hot chocolate beckons them in first!

Mish Mash Mush

Don't worry, I am not mashing up some Peeps or anything. Just a few "tidbits" for today. First, today is the last day to vote for your fave IDOL! GO here to do that.

Second, I am awaiting pics from a few people of their Critters so I will hold off on the next Round until I receive them. Should be soon tho, and very cute stuff!

Third, did you finish your taxes yet? GOTCHA! Just kidding. Sort of. I have been slower this year than ususal, not sure why.

Well, I am going to celebrate all this and more right now by going down and making myself a nice moka latte! Have a great day!

Cukoo for Cocoa...PEEPS!

These are by far the best tasting Peeps EVER! IMHO...
I even coated original Peeps with Giardelli cocoa powder...not bad. But not as good as the cocoa peeps. I have to admit, tho, I am partial to the Bunny shape. That may be influencing my opinion. ;D


HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Berkshire IDOL Finals are coming!

The Berkshires are hosting their version of American Idol, and the finals are next Saturday. Just like the "real" Idol, you can vote for your faves. Check it out HERE.

Perhaps that is not self evident from my little clip here. But I do. To prove it, I will be posting more about PEEPS as Easter approaches! WOo HOO!

Canned Coffee: Hot and Not

Canned Coffee is really popular in other countries. In the U.S. it is becoming more so, but it is drinken cold, whereas in other countries it is actually drinken hot.

Nice coffee and latte art videos

Easter is on its way---very early this year! I hope the weather turns warmer with it!
Meanwhile, the cold is a great excuse for an extra latte (or 2!)

Unique Coffee Pen!

This pen is hand made from real coffee grinds! The man who made it, Dennis, describes the process he used:

"I was playing around with different materials to form into pens, and
I thought it might be interesting to see if I could form coffee into
a solid which I could then turn on the lathe. Here I have blended
Ethiopian Sidamo with epoxy into a sticky mess, and pressed it into a
mold. After letting it cure for 24 hours (slow set epoxy) I cut it
into blanks, and turned the pen barrel on a lathe. You can see that
the coffee particles sticking to each other, and the fact that my
grinder gets a bit uneven at courser settings, creates a more random
pattern then if they were evenly dispersed. Also some flakes of chaff
adds more color variation. Although I was only planning on making one
of these, I may decide to sell them if there is enough interest."

It is majorly windy here in Bennington this morning. The NOISY kind of wind, not the kite flying kind! A good excuse for a nice hot latte. But then again, what ISN'T a good excuse for that?

This little pooch isn't coming out for coffee this morning! It's been raining so much...she stays WAY in! Made a swirly weird latte to go with the day...

By the way, that IS Patience in there-one of our mini dachsunds.

Caffeine, anyone?

Personally, I drink decaf. Only because it is uncomfortable feeling my heart skipping beats... It was the need for decaf that started me on my coffee roasting journey. I was determined to find good decaf (without the chemicals)and I did. But in the process I found better coffee than I had ever imagined! You too can experience a terrific cup of coffee. You can learn to roast your own beans very easily. It is a fun and addicting hobby, for sure! If you are curious about how good the beans are, you can order some from me to check them out. Just shoot me an email and I can roast them and send them. Easy.

Sunday Coffee

Aaah, Sunday coffee time. I had a creamy, silky smooth latte made with the last of some Mexican Naturally Decaffeinated beans that I roasted last Sunday. SO good! Looks kinda nice too... Then I wanted more, so I whipped up some crema in the Moka Pot (stovetop espresso maker). YUM! A great start to a relaxing day!

Tomorrow I will announce the winner of Round One and enter that Critter against a new Critter! Lucy is currently enjoying a healthy lead. Cast your vote and have a terrific Sunday!
