THE McDonald's Coffee Case

YOU know, the one where the woman sued for being burned by hot coffee. It was 1992!
Anyway, I found this link while surfing coffee stuff. In case you wanna know the "real" facts.

The facts about the temperatures for brewing coffee are interesting. It IS true that home coffee brewing is usually at lower temps---that is partly why the coffee from most home brewers is NOT AS GOOD as from brewers that heat hotter! You DO need the higher temps to extract the best flavors! McDOnald's was doing somethng RIGHT?!?!?!?!?

I still could NEVER understand why people liked their coffee. Of course they have stepped up now and serve Newman's Own, which is roasted by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. I still can't bring myself to drive thru...

  1. Their iced coffee isn't bad...especially the Newman's Own -but I think that is just a NE thing, here in FL, the coffee there at MCD is not Newman's.
    :(

I miss Green Mountain at the Mobil Station in Wilmington...wah!
